Jane  Warshaw

That’s me with my late husband, Bob Levenson on Useppa island.Me at my favorite  diner, E’J’s Luncheonette. And  me at  the Bamboo Forest  at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

My background is in advertising, having worked as  a copywriter and  Creative Supervisor at  top  creative agencies such as  Doyle Dane Bernbach, Scali McCabe & Sloves and Young & Rubicam. Among  my many awards is a Clio for the classic Dr. Pepper, “ Be A  Pepper” Campaign.

I also worked as a paralegal for lawyers  purporting to represent Holocaust survivors  and it was then that I became interested in helping  people fight back and  stick up  for their rights.

I’m a freelance writer now specializing in animal rights, animal welfare and  human health issues, and I’m a contributing writer to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals.

Besides writing  for area newspapers, current projects are  a memoir and a non-fiction book telling people how to advocate for themselves.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, I also grew up in Michigan. I  now live in New York City with  three  rescued cats, and a  rescued dog.

My  33 year old  daughter, Katherine, also lives in New  York, with her  boyfriend and  two  rescued  dogs..

Here are some of the cats  and  kittens I’ve fostered who  got heathy and moved on to great new homes.

And of  course my cats Denny, Tonto and Monty.
